A Campanha de Vacinação contra a Poliomielite e Multivacinação termina hoje (30) em todo o país. O objetivo é reforçar as coberturas vacinais contra a pólio e outras doenças que podem ser prevenidas, além de evitar a reintrodução de vírus que já foram eliminados no Brasil.
A campanha chegou a ser prorrogada pelo Ministério da Saúde por causa da baixa adesão. As doses estão disponíveis em mais de 40 mil salas de vacinação. A meta da pasta é imunizar 95% do público-alvo, formado por 14,3 milhões de crianças menores de 5 anos.
Crianças de 1 a 4 anos devem receber uma dose da Vacina Oral Poliomielite (VOP), desde que já tenham recebido as três doses da Vacina Inativada Poliomielite (VIP) previstas no esquema básico.
De acordo com o último balanço disponibilizado pelo ministério, até o momento 54,21% do público-alvo foi imunizado. O índice representa 6,2 mil doses contra a pólio distribuídas durante a campanha na faixa etária estabelecida.
Multivacinação
Para a campanha de multivacinação, as doses disponíveis são: Hepatite A e B, Penta (DTP/Hib/Hep B), Pneumocócica 10 valente, VRH (Vacina Rotavírus Humano), Meningocócica C (conjugada), Febre amarela, Tríplice viral (Sarampo, Rubéola, Caxumba), Tetraviral (Sarampo, Rubéola, Caxumba, Varicela), DTP (tríplice bacteriana), Varicela e HPV quadrivalente (Papilomavírus Humano).
Entre adolescentes com idade até 15 anos, estão disponíveis as vacinas HPV, dT (dupla adulto), Febre amarela, Tríplice viral, Hepatite B, dTpa e Meningocócica ACWY (conjugada). O ministério reforça que todos os imunizantes que integram o Programa Nacional de Imunizações (PNI) são seguros e foram aprovados pela Agência Nacional de Vigilância Sanitária (Anvisa).

Em nota, o ministério destacou que o Brasil é referência mundial em imunização e conta com um dos maiores programas de vacinação do mundo. Anualmente, o Programa Nacional de Imunizações (PNI) aplica cerca de 100 milhões de doses. O Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS), segundo a pasta, tem capacidade para vacinar 1 milhão de pessoas por dia.
“Toda a população com menos de 5 anos precisa ser vacinada para evitar a reintrodução do vírus que causa a paralisia infantil”, alertou a pasta.
De acordo com o ministério, doenças que já foram eliminadas graças à vacinação podem ser reintroduzidas no país devido às baixas coberturas, “voltando a ser um problema de saúde pública”. O Brasil já eliminou cinco doenças por meio de vacinação: a poliomielite, a síndrome da rubéola congênita, a rubéola, o tétano materno e neonatal e a varíola.
