O número de casos prováveis de dengue, em todo o país, quase dobrou desde o começo do ano comparado ao mesmo período de 2021, segundo boletim epidemiológico divulgado pelo Ministério da Saúde.
De acordo com o levantamento, foram registrados quase 400 mil casos prováveis de dengue, o que representa um aumento de 95% em relação ao mesmo período do ano passado. Até o momento, são 184 casos para cada 100 mil habitantes neste ano.
Para a segunda vice-presidente do Conselho Federal de Medicina, Rosylane Rocha, dois fatores podem explicar esse aumento considerável. O primeiro é que a dengue é uma doença sazonal, com maior incidência em períodos de chuva e calor. E, como este ano muitas regiões tiveram chuvas acima do esperado, favoreceu o acúmulo de água, situação propícia para o surgimento de focos do mosquito transmissor.
Outro motivo, segundo Rosylane Rocha, é que o medo da covid-19 fez muita gente procurar atendimento médico, aumentando os registros oficiais de casos de dengue, já que, no início as duas doenças têm sintomas parecidos.
Muito acima da média nacional, a Região Centro-Oeste apresenta taxa superior a 700 casos de dengue por 100 mil habitantes, com destaque para as capitais Goiânia, Brasília e Palmas. É na capital federal onde mora o fotógrafo Raphael Padilha, que teve dengue logo após se curar da covid-19, em fevereiro. Assustado com os sintomas, chegou a desconfiar de complicações da covid-19. Raphael conta que, na região onde vive, está havendo surto de dengue e que nem o filho mais novo, de quase 2 anos, ficou ileso.
O boletim do Ministério da Saúde aponta que, até o momento, está confirmada a morte de 112 pessoas, das 280 que desenvolveram agravamento da dengue no país. Os registros ocorreram, principalmente, nos estados de São Paulo, seguido de Goiás, Bahia, Santa Catarina e Minas Gerais. Além disso, mais de 170 mortes ainda são investigadas e podem estar associadas à dengue.
