Uma operação conjunta envolvendo mais de 100 agentes da Guarda Civil Municipal (GCM), da Polícia Civil e da Polícia Militar foi realizada no dia 14/04, quinta-feira, em Barueri. A Operação Cidade Mais Segura percorreu os bairros da cidade realizando ações preventivas aos crimes patrimoniais e contra a vida.
Cerca de 20 viaturas, mais todo o Grupo Tático de motocicletas, além de um helicóptero do Serviço Aéreo Tático (SAT), da Polícia Civil, concentraram-se no estacionamento do Ginásio José Correa, às 14h, para em seguida realizarem ações nos bairros da cidade.
De acordo com a Polícia Civil, agentes divididos em várias equipes realizaram bloqueios de trânsito para averiguação de veículos, bem como a execução de mandados de busca e apreensão que já tinha sido iniciada desde a madrugada.
A Operação Cidade Mais Segura é realizada pelo menos uma vez por mês e também ocorreu nos municípios de Santana de Parnaíba, Pirapora do Bom Jesus, Jandira e Itapevi.
