Depois de mais de dois anos fechado para visitação, por conta da pandemia da Covid-19, o Templo Zu Lai, o maior templo budista da América Latina, reabriu as portas para o público. A visitação ainda será em dias reduzidos, às sextas-feiras, das 12h às 17h, e aos sábados e domingos, das 9h30 às 17h.
As medidas sanitárias de prevenção estão mantidas, como o uso de máscara e apresentação do comprovante de vacinação contra a Covid (pelo menos uma dose). O titular da Secretaria de Turismo de Cotia, Nelson Broering, e parte de sua equipe fizeram questão de prestigiar este momento.
“Foram mais de dois anos com atividades suspensas e, hoje, com muita alegria, participamos da reabertura deste que é, sem dúvida, o maior expoente do turismo de Cotia”, disse Nelson que foi recepcionado pela Mestra Miao You. Representando a Prefeitura de Cotia, o secretário Nelson entregou orquídeas para as mestras do Templo.
A Mestra Miao pediu desculpas para as pessoas que esperaram tanto pela reabertura do templo e disse que espera acolher o maior número de pessoas possível. “Muito gratificante a reabertura. […] Temos saudade das pessoas, sei que muitas pessoas têm saudade de nós também, mas por causa da medida de proteção à Covid-19 precisávamos estar seguros até o fim para atendermos melhor a todos”, disse a Mestra.
Ela explicou que o projeto era reabrir o local no início do ano, mas como o Carnaval foi adiado para abril, a reabertura também foi adiada. “Esperamos mais um pouco para vermos como ia ficar a situação da pandemia, porque aqui vem muita gente”, destacou.
O Templo Zu Lai fica na estrada Fernando Nobre, 1461, Parque Rincão em Cotia.
