Para receber a bivalente a pessoa deverá ter sido imunizada com as 1ª e 2ª doses do esquema vacinal primário, devendo aguardar um intervalo de quatro meses da última dose. A vacina é uma atualização que protege contra a cepa original do coronavírus (SARS-Cov-2) e as subvariantes da Ômicron (BA.1 e BA.2).
Grupos com comorbidades
Pessoas com comorbidades que receberiam a dose a partir do dia 17 de abril já podem tomar a bivalente.
Nesta fase, serão disponibilizadas as doses para pessoas com idade de 12 a 59 anos com doença respiratória crônica, doença cardíaca crônica, doença renal crônica, doença hepática crônica, doença neurológica crônica, diabetes; obesos (obesidade grau III); transplantados; portadores de trissomias (síndrome de Down, síndrome de Klinefelter, síndrome de Wakany, dentre outras).
No dia 17 de abril os contemplados com a vacina serão pessoas com deficiência permanente, trabalhadores de saúde, a população privada de liberdade; adolescentes cumprindo medidas socioeducativas de 12 a 17 anos 11 meses e 29 dias de idade; funcionários do sistema de privação de liberdade.

A vacinação com a bivalente começou em fevereiro deste ano e os grupos prioritários já contemplados são formados por pessoas com mais 12 anos moradoras de instituições de longa permanência e trabalhadores dessas instituições; comunidades indígenas, ribeirinhos e quilombolas; gestantes e puérperas; e imunocomprometidos.
